Good news and a Timeline
WELCOME and CONGRATULATIONS to the newly elected Assembly District 5 (AD05) ADEMS: Annie Bowler, Tiffany D Sickler, Ellen Debach-Riley, Ann Keating, Nichole Trujillo Rice, Stephanie Goldman, John Savage, Tomas Evangelista, Sameer Kazim, Michael Saunders, Charley Riley, Leo Bennet-Cauchon, John Rector and Joe Mlakar. The E-Board representative is Michael Saunders from El Dorado County Central Committee. AD05 is composed of both Placer and El Dorado Counties and this group covers both geographic areas. These new delegates are elected during the 2 year Presidential election cycle so this is an exciting time with CADEM elections in May and November this year. The 14 ADEM delegates will have voting rights at the May 25-28 Convention in Los Angeles as well as the Pre-Endorsement Convention in November, 2023, in Sacramento. With both the Federal Senate race and the Presidential endorsements occurring at the November meeting, it will be an exciting fall convention. The Central Committee is inviting ADEMS to join our Standing Committees to further our efforts here in both counties.
A timeline already?? What, we just finished an election only 3 months ago?! March 2024 is one year away and a valuable lesson learned is that Democrats need to start work earlier and focus on our outreach here in Placer County. Any serious candidate for the 2024 cycle needs to start early to increase opportunities for success if we are to go “Blue in 2024”. We must do a better job of getting our message out and hold the Republicans accountable for their votes. Our success in 2024 depends on engaging more volunteers and activists as well as fundraising to reach out to Democrats and left leaning voters.
Speaking of fundraising, SAVE the Date on Saturday June 10 for the annual Roosevelt Kennedy dinner. It will be held at Sun City Roseville Timbers with more information on keynote speakers and sponsors forthcoming. You won’t want to miss it!
A key opportunity to help fundraise is by joining our Blue Legacy Circle with a monthly donation through Act Blue.
