On 12/20/21, the Roseville Independent Redistricting Commission met to select a handful of maps to move forward and present to the public over the month of January.

The six maps moving forward are maps 1, 6, 8, 14, 15, & 25. These are the maps that received public comment at the last meeting, so it’s really important for people to turn out in the month of January and/or to submit your public comment via web-form or email.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The maps have now been renamed and are now represented by Alpha letters (See below):

I have also noted the Neighborhood Associations that are divided in the maps, to the right of the map name.

You can view these maps in more detail here:  MAPS

·       Map 1 = Map A – Notable neighborhood divisions: Blue Oaks, Quail Glenn, and Sierra Vista (high school)

·       Map 6 = Map B – Notable neighborhood divisions: Kaseberg-Kingswood, Stone Ridge, Wood Creek Oaks into 3 districts (also detaches Sierra Vista from Old Roseville)

·       Map 8 = Map C – Notable neighborhood divisions:  Blue Oaks, Diamond Oaks, Fiddyment Farms, Folsom Rd, Highland Reserve, Johnson Ranch, Pleasant Grove into 3 districts, Sierra Vista, and Theiles Manor

·       Map 14 = Map D – Notable neighborhood divisions: Harding, Quail Glenn

·       Map 15 = Map E – Notable neighborhood divisions: NONE

·       Map 25 = Map F – Notable neighborhood divisions: NONE

I have listed my own ratings from best to worst when it comes to meeting the CA Voter Rights Act requirements that must be observed in this order (1. contiguity 2. integrity of neighborhoods and communities of interest 3. easily identifiable boundaries 4. compactness 5. other criteria that does not supersede the above priorities)

Best:               E & F                – no neighborhood association divisions

Good:             D & A               – fewest neighborhood association divisions

Neutral:          B                      – more neighborhood association divisions and Sierra Vista separated from D2

Worst:            C                      – large amount of neighborhood association divisions

What to do:  If you are a Roseville Resident, or have friends that live in Roseville, we need public turnout and/or emailed map preference comments submitted. The Independent Commission was put in place by the public to listen to the public. Please let them hear from you!  Public pressure worked for Placer County and we can make it work in Roseville too.

Review the maps, pick what you think is the best map to serve the entire city, and make public comment on the map or maps you support using one or more of the methods below:
