Are you trying to figure out what the latest redistricting boundary changes mean for your June 7 Primary Ballot options? By the time you get your sample ballot in mid-May, it will all be clear. Good luck if you go online now, because many of the websites, including the Placer County Office of Elections have not yet been updated to allow you to enter your address to find the new districts.
If you want to preview it for the Congressional, State Senate and State Assembly races, I recommend you check out this link at Cal Matters:
https://calmatters.org/politics/2022/01/california-election-new-districts-lookup/
After you enter your voter residence address, it will show you both your “old” and “new” districts. As an example, my address shows my previous Congressional district as CD4 (McClintock) and the 2020 census adjusted Congressional district as CD3. There is also a map showing the previous district in yellow, new district in purple and any overlapping area in cross hatch.
To locate your local non-partisan districts, you must refer to the approved redistricting maps for local jurisdictional boundaries. Placer County is currently working on the boundary updates. As of mid-March, the link to submit your address brings up the old districts, for example, in my case CD4. Fortunately, most local non-partisan races are in the November election cycle. The outlier is the Placer County Board of Supervisors (BOS) and countywide elected officers. There are 2 BOS district seats up in June – District 1 with incumbent Bonnie Gore having no opponent and District 2 with Democratic endorsed candidate, Scott Alvord. The District 2 map is at https://www.placer.ca.gov/2255/District-Map-Communities. District 2 includes Roseville west of Fiddyment, the city of Lincoln and large portions of unincorporated rural Placer County.
And finally, you can wait for your Placer County Voter Information Guide to be mailed to registered voters on April 28, 2022. The ballot will be mailed out on May 9, 2022, to all active registered voters. This is an important election cycle, so please be informed and, most importantly, VOTE.
