Students are back in school, and school board candidates are on the campaign trail. We are excited to announce that the Placer County Democratic Central Committee has chosen to endorse 27 amazing Democrats in local races. The Placer County Democratic Party is working to support these candidates and shine a spotlight on how they will bring their experience, passion, and values to serve the people of Placer County. Please keep an eye out for future emails, social media posts, and updates on our website on how to support these candidates. Sign up to add your name to our volunteer list to be connected and receive notifications about future opportunities to support these candidates.
Thank you to all who attended or donated to our 11th Annual Roosevelt-Kennedy Dinner. The night was a fantastic success. After accounting for expenses, the Placer County Democratic Party raised about twice as much money as we did from last year’s dinner. Our Harris/Walz yard signs are going fast, so donate to get one before they are all gone. All these funds you have been donating will help us send out as many mailers and texts as possible to support Democrats.
Now that the Democratic National Convention has concluded in Chicago, we must keep that energy and momentum going. We know what is at stake in this election, from the presidency to our school boards. From book bans to abortion, you know what we risk losing in this election. These races will be challenging, especially since you will not see ads and literature pieces smearing or denigrating other candidates or groups of people from the Placer County Democratic Party. We believe in healing and strengthening communities and bringing decency and civility back to public service. However, we anticipate that our candidates and their supporters will be unfairly attacked. That is why we need you to stand up and speak up for our candidates who are trying to do the right thing. We cannot allow ourselves to be intimidated into silence or inaction. Each person reading this must be the counter to the nastiness and vitriol that is ruining national politics and seeping into our local politics. By being united and maintaining our values, we, as Democrats, can show that we speak for the people and interests of Placer County. We lose when too many people stay silent. Don’t sit out this election. Get involved!
