A Message from Our Chair
Kathleen Crawford
OCTOBER 2022
After the heat wave and fires of September, we are all primed for the final push for our endorsed candidates! Please support our outstanding and highly qualified candidates: Dr Kermit Jones for CD3, Paula Villescaz for SD6, Rebecca Chenoweth for AD5 and Scott Alvord for Board of Supervisors District 2. The local nonpartisan endorsed candidates are Auburn Area Recreation & Park District (Alan Loberstein and Nic Macy), Auburn Union School District (Julann Brown), Placer Hills USD (Geoff Anderson and Charlie Riley), Rocklin USD (Rick Miller, Michelle Sutherland and Jen Brookover) and Roseville City School District (Rene Aguilera).
Ballots are scheduled to go into the mail on October 8, 2022 according to the Placer Office of Elections and should arrive in your mailbox around October 10, 2022. There will be drop boxes, prepaid postal mail return as well as the opportunity to vote at a precinct for most areas in the county. Check your sample ballot for information on your precinct voting location (may have changed) as well as the list of drop boxes which are picked up daily by the Office of Elections. You may also drop off your ballot in the secured blue canvas box at any polling place on Election Day, November 8, 2022 before 8 pm.
Looking at this timeline, you can see that many people will be filling out their ballots in mid to late October so the campaigns are all on overtime CRUNCH mode to make voter contacts by canvassing at the door, phone or text banking and the important postcards and mail pieces, not to mention television spots. Neighbors will be checking out your lawn signs so get your support visible as much as possible.
Like me, many of you are volunteering for more than one endorsed candidate – if you cannot volunteer for whatever reason, you can check out the candidate websites and donate – in any amount. You can help get the word out by encouraging family and friends to vote and sharing your knowledge about the endorsed candidates. You can bookmark this newsletter to share it with your likeminded colleagues.
It is always important to vote always but it is especially impactful during low turn-out midterm elections. Please do one thing each day to help turn Placer Blue!! #Democrats Deliver - but only when we are elected!
GO DEMOCRATS!
