Did you feel it?  Did you get goosebumps and a little adrenaline rush when Biden announced he was dropping out of the race?  It’s not that we don’t adore Biden; we absolutely do.  But we also recognize the reality of how difficult it is for anyone to run for office, campaigning, and traveling full-time.  Doing so while simultaneously working at the most demanding job in the world challenges all incumbent presidents enormously.  Our beloved Joe has earned a pleasant retirement filled with expressions of gratitude and respect from us all.

That jolt of excitement that we felt a mere few weeks ago was the sound made when a tiny crack erupts in glass.  That last glass ceiling, which has kept women subjugated since time immemorial, now has a tiny crack in it.

This time, we won’t be surprised when Putin's propaganda makes its way onto the far-right news stations.  We have learned how to deflate the Republicans when they bloat bizarre and destructive ideas about how to deal with the true issues facing Americans.  Should another James Comey come along, we will also be ready to deal with that.  We know there will be multiple attempts to deny a fair election.  We stand resolute in protecting democracy and moving forward, never backward.

So, it’s time to get out our chisels and hammers and get to work shattering that ceiling.  We at PCDCC are excited at the prospect, not only of putting a woman in charge, but the strongest leader in charge, Kamala Harris.  Share the excitement with us at our many events, and get ready to celebrate a glass explosion in November.
